Dark Pool Analytics

What is daily dark pool amount?

Daily dark pool amount is a per-ticker chart of off-exchange notional versus the stock price, one Date at a time. Each gray bar is Amount (M). The gold line is Price. Filter ticker and Go load a name. The page starts on SPY. It is a daily series, not a tape of prints and not a buy list.

Dark pool fills still hit the public tape after they execute. This page does not stream those prints in time order, and it does not add the whole market into one number. It stays on one ticker and plots that name's daily off-exchange Amount against Price. The chart card is labeled Daily DP Amount, Dark Pool Volume vs. Price. Date is the bottom axis. Price is the left axis, in dollars. Amount (M) is the right axis. The gold line is Price. The gray bars are Amount (M). Hover a Date for both values. A tall bar on a quiet price day is a different picture than a tall bar on a day the gold line also moved. A busy product can print large Amount on most dates just because it always trades. If Filter ticker and Go find no data, the header shows dashes for the ticker and the price. The chart then has nothing to plot. There is no Filters drawer and no table on this page.

On EZPZ, the live chrome titles the page Daily DP Amount. Type a ticker in Filter ticker, then click Go or press Enter. The live price sits next to the symbol. Largest Dark Pool By Ticker is one row per symbol for the whole session. Largest Single Dark Pool Trades ranks one print at a time. Dark Pool Sectors rolls the session into industry-group bars. Dark Pool Top Levels groups one ticker's prints by price. Dark Pool Movers and Shakers is SPY Price versus running Buy Amount and Sell Amount. Dark Pool Net Flow is one ticker's Buy Amount versus Sell Amount plus Volume bars. Dark Pool Sentiment is Cumulative Net Amount (M) bars by Date. Block Trades Sentiment is Buy Premium (M) versus Sell Premium (M) by Date, plus Volume Sentiment. Dark Pool Flow is the all-ticker off-exchange tape. SPY Flow locks that tape to SPY. $1M+ Premium Dark Pool Flow keeps only million-dollar prints. $1M+ DP Volume Flow is the high dark-volume tape. Dark Pool Index (DIX) is a market-wide DIX % line, not a ticker Amount chart. Dark Pool Indicator (DPI) is market-wide pressure versus the 20-day average, not a ticker Amount chart. Bullish Dark Pool Net Premium ranks names by Net Premium. Bearish Dark Pool Net Premium ranks the same Net Premium figure from the most negative reading. DarkVol Leaders ranks names by DarkVol Ratio %. Live Flow is listed options prints.

How Daily Dark Pool Amount works on EZPZ

Read the live price first, then the bars, then the gold line. It is not a score. Most people start with whether Amount (M) is unusually tall versus nearby dates, then check whether Price moved the same day. Use Filter ticker when you already have a name. Then open a tape page if you want the prints behind a Date.

How this differs from ranks, levels, and the tape

Largest Dark Pool By Ticker is one row per symbol for the session. This page stays on one ticker and plots Amount (M) against Price by Date. Use the ticker board when you do not already have a name. Use this page when you already have a ticker and you want how its daily dark notional lined up with price. Largest Single Dark Pool Trades ranks one large order at a time. A Date can lead Amount with many smaller prints and never show a single huge fill on that list. Dark Pool Sectors is Highest Premium Inflow and Highest Volume Inflow, then Premium vs Volume bars, not a daily ticker chart. Dark Pool Top Levels stacks the same ticker by price, not by Date. Dark Pool Movers and Shakers is SPY Price versus running Buy Amount and Sell Amount on the session clock. Dark Pool Flow is the live tape with TIME, PREMIUM, DARK RATIO, and DIRECTION. $1M+ Premium Dark Pool Flow and $1M+ DP Volume Flow still show tape rows with a size floor. SPY Flow is only SPY prints, not SPY daily Amount bars. Live Flow is options, not equity dark pool amount.

Filter ticker GoLoads a ticker. Press Enter or click Go. The page starts on SPY until you search.

Daily DP Amount, Dark Pool Volume vs. Price

The chart is a combo of bars and a line on the same Dates. Read the legend first: gold is Price, gray is Amount (M). Then read one Date at a time.

  • Date: The bottom axis. Each cluster is one session on that ticker.
  • Price: The left axis and the gold line. Dots sit on each Date.
  • Amount (M): The right axis and the gray bars. Taller means more off-exchange notional that day, in millions.

How people actually use it

Load a ticker you already watch

Filter ticker, then Go. Note the live price against the most recent Amount bar. A huge bar on an ETF you always see busy is a different read than a huge bar on a quieter name.

Match Amount to Price

Find the tallest Amount (M) bar, then look at the gold line on that Date. Size with a quiet Price day is not the same picture as size on a day the line already moved.

Ask AiPe about the trend

Ask AiPe is labeled Dark Pool Analyst. Ask what the DP trend is for this ticker, whether dark pool premium is rising or falling, or tell it to switch to QQQ.

Open the tape next

This page is a daily series, not a setup. Open Dark Pool Flow for prints, or SPY Flow if the ticker is SPY.
